Pemberton Revival

This Pemberton Heights home began as a 1920s residence whose historic beauty had been slowly buried beneath decades of additions, structural movement, and timeworn neglect. What emerged through its restoration was not simply a renovation, but a careful unfolding — a home brought gently back to life while preserving the grace and character that first made it special. Inspired by the warmth of traditional Southern homes and the openness of modern living, the interiors were reshaped around light, gathering, and connection, with the kitchen becoming the soulful center of daily life and a screened porch extending the home into the landscape beyond.

Throughout the project, limitations became opportunities for quiet ingenuity. A softly curved stair landing transforms the entry into a moment of arrival, while a cantilevered second-floor addition creates space with remarkable restraint, hovering lightly above the ground below. Existing structures were thoughtfully woven into the new vision, including the garage reimagined as part of a guest retreat, allowing the home to grow without overwhelming its footprint. Layered with hidden details and deeply functional spaces — from the concealed pantry door to the pool, porch, and garden beyond — the home feels collected over time: rooted in history, yet entirely renewed for the family now living within it.
