PROJECT BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES

Create a master plan for property including a modestly scaled roughly 1600 sf primary house with porch

(dog trot style) and locate and plan for a separate future guest quarters structure.

- Proper access and parking will also be accommodated, creating connection to and considering views of the

existing shop structure on site.

- Design will pay special attention to the relationship between the home and the beautiful 16 acre site, capitalizing

on western views for porch sitting (evening wine) and situating for passive systems (solar, connection to current

rainwater system).

- Indoor/outdoor space will be prioritized, taking advantage of morning and afternoon sun to activate spaces and

views of the landscape.

- Design will pay special attention to natural light. Large windows to aid in connection to the landscape.

- A style has yet to be determined, but humble vernacular and mid century modern forms were identified as

possible fits for the program and use of the site.
