PROJECT BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES

R and B have recently purchased a home with alley access right behind South Congress Avenue. The existing house is in good shape and will be used as their primary residence. They have a small rental at their current property and would like to build something similar here, ideally constructing 1-2 rental units and covered parking for personal use off of the back alley (the current house has none).

DESIGN GOALS BY PRIORITY:

  • 1-2 Rental units with prefered access from the alley

  • 2 covered parking spaces 

  • Rental units to follow market trends on AirBNB to maximise uncome from units

  • A unique identity that fits the Austin/South Congress vibe

 

 

Budget Range (excludes landscape and design services):  $640-720k *last priced fall 2024

Construction Timeline Range:  9-12 Months

Non Conditioned: 175 sf stair and porches
