Hyde Park Bungalow and Casita

Our clients approached Moontower with a need to breathe new life into their 1940’s era Hyde Park bungalow and transform their dilapidated wood garage into a small detached casita for visiting family.  For the front house, Moontower redesigned the dark and compartmentalized ground floor to maintain privacy for the primary suite while opening up the kitchen, dining, and living room for a light-filled home for entertaining. The garage was completely restored structurally.  We utilized the current location on site to take advantage of it's grandfathered location encroaching on the required side yard.  After the rehabilitation, adding plumbing, a ductless mini-split for heating and cooling, and an upgrade to fire resistant siding in the set back, they have a stylish back house for hosting family and friends.
